Deal Detective ("we", "us", "our") operates dealdetective.com.au, a service that helps users monitor and analyse second-hand marketplace listings.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored encrypted via our authentication provider).
- Saved search criteria and preferences.
- Purchase records and feedback you choose to enter.
- Contact form submissions.
- Usage data such as pages viewed and features used, for product improvement.
3. How we use information
We use your information to operate and improve the service, including to:
- Match listings against your saved searches and send notifications.
- Provide account, billing, and support functions.
- Improve our analysis engine using aggregated purchase feedback.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Data storage and security
Data is stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security enforced so that, other than administrators, users can only access their own data. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
5. Third parties
We may use third-party service providers for hosting (Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe, when enabled), email delivery (Resend, when enabled), and marketplace data access (eBay Browse API, when enabled). Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us, subject to any information we are required to retain by law. You can also delete saved searches, watchlist items, and purchase records directly within the app.
